Congressman Jim Nussle has no opponent in the Republican primary. He spent more than $2 million dollars already, just in the past few months. Yet, in a state about half Republican, he still can't get more than 40% of the vote. He seems to have topped out.
Rasmussen has been consistently polling, pitting Congressman Nussle against potential Democratic opponents Culver, Bloiun, and Fallon. In December 2005, Congressman Nussle got about 40%. In January, Congressman Nussle got about 40%. In February, Congressman Nussle got about 40%. In March, Congressman Nussle got about 40%. In April, Congressman Nussle got about 40%.
