I'll start by saying that I was very surprised at the results from the 1st CD Republican Primary. Here is how it played out. Bill Dix won Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Clayton, Delaware, and Fayette counties. Mike Whalen won Clinton, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones, and Scott. While Dix won more counties, his only large victories were in the relatively small Butler and Bremer counties. The rest were all pretty close.
