Iowa’s Speaker of the House, Christopher Rants has signed on with Mitt Romney’s Commonwealth PAC. Rants is the highest ranking Republican elected official in the state to sign on with a potential 08er. Romney will be in Iowa (today) for a two day visit. ... I think it’s important to note that this isn’t just an endorsement, but instead it looks like Rants will take an active roll in the Commonwealth PAC’s Iowa operation. It will also be interesting to see if other legislative endorsements follow for Romney once the November elections are over.
