LISTEN: McCain defends straw poll decision
Arizona Sen. John McCain is defending his decision to skip the August GOP straw poll, vowing to compete in the January caucuses.
McCain was asked Friday about his the mid-week campaign announcement that he'd be skipping the Republican Party of Iowa's Aug. 11 straw poll in Ames.
The Republican presidential candidate, at a campaign picnic in Centennial Park, called the August event "not meaningful" or a "viable procedure."
